Green Flash Hawaii has been influenced by ethnic folk music, rock and metal, guitarists like Al Di Meola, Jeff Beck, John McLaughlin and Jimi Hendrix.
We also love Chillout music. Sometimes called Trip Hop, it's an obscure genre that is relatively unknown. Bands like Sia, Zero 7, Massive Attack, Elsiane, Etro Anime, Vargo. This is beautiful, lush and ethereal music. That influence can be heard on songs like DESIRE, GREEN FLASH and WORTH THE WAIT.
SHAMAN is a middle eastern/Turkish influenced track with Spanish/Arabic modal melodies and solos. On the "Big Island" of Hawaii there is a place called Waimea. It's one of the wettest places on earth and where my father grew up.
STORM IN WAIMEA is a western, slide guitar, rock/new metal fusion track that is somewhat reminiscent of Jimmy Page.
